Title: Ken Davis (University of Waterloo) – “Lecture 5 The Believer's Church Facing a Secularized Society”
Dr. Ken Davis explores the role of the Believer’s church in modern society. He examines the secular kingdom of man in a biblical context. He explores the context of ancient Rome and the evolution of the church within a pagan setting. He explores the Ecclesiastical Church at length. He discusses the creation of the “Man IS God” theology and the effects it has on people and society. He includes many references to the Anti-Christ and the Beast. Davis explores the idea of “Man creates God”. He explores the new religion of humanistic secularism. The recording cuts off in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 37b consists of the following recording:
Title: Ken Davis – “Questions from Lecture 4”
This section continues from Aud. 37a. Davis examines the various controls - social, media, and other - utilized by those with a secular mindset. He argues that this is greater and more significant than the historical military persecution Christians have faced. He proposes separation and witness as a solution. Davis then explores how to live a life of witness and separation, and the difficulty of maintaining a godly lifestyle in a increasingly secular world. The recording cuts off at [25:26] and piano music is heard to [26:35]. At [26:41] Ken Davis takes questions from the audience pertainint to the lecture on Aud.36b.
