Scope and content

Audio 40a consists of the following recording:
Title: Ken Davis – “The Sovereignty of Christ and the Authority of Preaching”
Dr. Ken Davis, professor at the University of Waterloo, and later a TWU Administrator, reviews his previous lectures. He argues that Christ came to redeem humanity from rebellion, lawlessness and self-will. He argues that disobedience is a tool of the Anti-Christ. Davis explores the concept disobedience and the importance of the authority of Christ. He continues to explore the book of Acts. He defines and explores the importance of baptism in the Holy Spirit. The recording cuts off in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 40b consists of the following recording:
Title: Ken Davis – “The Sovereignty of Christ and the Authority of Preaching”
This recording continues from Aud. 40a. Davis discusses “proof-texting”, the taking of scripture out of context to prove a point, thereby neglecting the true message of the text. He argues for repentance and the importance of submitting to God. He argues that one must repent and be baptized; one must not only be willing to be obedient, but one must be obedient.
