Title: Dr. Don Page – “The True Meaning of Success”
Dr. Don Page, Academic Vice President, speaks at The Meeting Place in Winnipeg. He is introduced by an unidentified speaker. He describes the journey of “success”. He discusses his personal journey through politics with several interesting and amusing anecdotes. Through these anecdotes he attempts to define “success”. He asserts that there are four characteristics of successful people: physical and mental fitness, personal integrity, putting personal goals above personal gain (to serve others), and being a person of God. He relates his personal journey to Christ and his struggles to share Christ with others. He shares his personal grief surrounding the aviation accident at TWU (1991). He calls on his audience to re-evaluate their definition of success. He is thanked for speaking by the same speaker who introduced him. This person then asks for donations for a youth mission trip and leads the group in prayer.
