Item is a political cartoon depicting Robert N. Thompson saving Lester Pearson from a saw table. Thompson has picked Pearson off the saw table and is now holding him above his head while running away from John Diefenbaker who says, “CURSES FOILED AGAIN!” The saw on the saw table reads, “Non confidence vote.” Thompson is wearing a sweater that says SOCRED, black pants and black dress shoes. Pearson is wearing a dress shirt, black pants and high heeled dress shoes. He is also wearing glasses and has on a tie with white dots on it. Pearson is tied up with rope around his ankles, wrists and waist. Diefenbaker is standing behind the saw table is wearing a black top hat, a black suit with a white dress shirt underneath, and a black sting bow tie. He has a long black mustache and two buck teeth.

Item is a political cartoon of large cauldron over a fire at a beach. The fire is labeled“ Barbarous Economic System.” The large cauldron is labeled “Scarcity Amongst Abundance,” “Invention for Private Profit,” and “Credit Control by a Few.” An arrow pointing down into the cauldron says “HUMANITY”, “All Ages, Races and kindreds both sexes” The smoke rising off the cauldron is labeled “Rich Promised Profits” A very overweight person sits on the beach looking at the cauldron. This person is black and is labeled “Private Monopoly.” The person has a ring in their nose and a bone in the hair. There are bones scattered in front of the cauldron. In the background are coconut trees and bushes on the beach.

The Government of the Province of Alberta Prosperity Certificate

Object is a certificate reading "The Government of the Province of Alberta Prosperity certificate, Issued August 5, 1936", signed by William Aberhart - Social Credit, AB Premier 1935-43 and the Provincial Treasurer who's signature is unreadable. Writing in the corner reads "Presented to RN Thompson - 9 Sept 64". The certificate is framed in a black wooden frame.

Douglas Ruler

Object is a "'Douglas' combined protractor and parallel rule, designed by Commander H.P. Douglas" in a cardboard case with "Robert N. Thompson, Ft/Lieut" in pen on the front of the case and a paper explaining the ruler. The case is closed by a cloth tie. Two objects in the collection.

"Royal Life Saving Society" Medal

Object is a metal medal attached to a ribbon and a pin, from the "Royal Life Saving Society, Canada," in a plastic case with foam in the bottom. "Alberta and Territories Branch, Benefactor" is engraved on the back of the medal.

Dalton Dead Reckoning Computer with Leather Case

Object is a "Dalton Dead Reckoning Computer, Type E-6B, WEEMS System of navigation, Annapolis, MD", copyright by Philip Dalton, for flight calculations. The "computer" is in a brown leather-like case with "Robert N. Thompson, Sqd. Leader, 1943" on the front and "Robert N. Thompson Ft Lieut 1942" on the back.

Prince Selassie Medallion

Object is a gold-coloured medallion set in wood between two pieces of plastic/plexiglass. The medallion displays a crest and a bust along with Ethiopian lettering. The card inside reads "Presented to R.N. Thompson by Prince Makonnen Hailie Slassie Duke of Harrar June 1951".

Alberta Chiropractic Association Award of Merit

Object is an award of merit recognizing Robert Thompson service within the Alberta Chiropractic Association. The award of merit is engraved on a metal plate that is affixed to a metal adornation that features a rolled out sroll with laurel wreath behind the scroll, and this feature is attached to a wooden base.

The plaque reads: "Alberta Chiropractic Association, Award of Merit. Be it known that Dr. Robert N. Thompson for having served the chiropractic profession and the public unselishly is hereby given the A.C.A. Award of Merit. March 7, 1981."

Kale Heywet Church plaque

Order of Canada framed certificate

Object is a framed facsimile of the Order of Canada awarded to Robert Norman Thompson. The certificate features the badge of the Order of Canada on the top centre, which is a stylized snowflake bearing the crown, a maple leaf and the motto. The frame stain is cherry.

The certificate reads: "The Governor General of Canada, Chancellor and Principal Companion of the Order of Canada to Robert Norman Thompson. Greeting: Whereas, with the approval of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Sovereign of the Order of Canada, We have been pleased to appoint you to be an Officer of the Order of Canada. We do by these Presents appoint you to be an Officer of the said Order and authorize you to hold and enjoy the dignity of such appointment together with membership in the said Order and all privileges thereunto appertaining. Given at Rideau Hall in the City of Ottawa under the Seal of the Order of Canada this twenty-fifth day of October, 1990.
