Sword and Scabbard of Prince Amedeo, Duke of Aosta

Object is a sword and scabbard. The sword's hilt, knuckle guard, and guard feature inticate carvings, including the face of a lion. The guard features a crest of some sort. The grip is white and carved with horizontal lines. The scabbard is black with golden metal accents, inluding at the top of the scabbard, halfway down wherein there is a ring, and at the bottom. These golden additions are also patterned. The blade of the sword is also carved with swirling patterns.

Silver Guard of Honour Sword

Object is a Silver Guard of Honour sword. The sword's hilt features the mouth of lion, out of which the guard emerges, connecting at the bottom of the grip. The grip is decorated with dark grey metal and gold, swirling stripes. The guard is carved with the Coat of Arms of Haile Selassie. The sheath is simple and unpatterned, featuring two metal rings on the upper portion. The sword's blade is decorated with images of the Coat of Arms, a set of crossing swords, a crowned lion with a flag, and other images and symbols. The upper portion of the blade bears an Amharic inscription, translated to read [The Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah has prevailed].

Star Button

Object is a six point star military button. In between each point are engraved lines to accentuate the points.

Ethiopian Star Button

Object is a triangluar shaped star military button with three main points and three smaller points in between the main ones. The button is known as the Ethiopian star.

Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie Medallion Pendant

Object is a lapel medallion pendant featuring a black and white image of Emperor Haile Selassie in military dress with medals displayed on his left breast. The back of the medallion reads in black text, "Czechoslovak Exposition, 25 Silver Jubilee." The medallion is enclosed in gold-like metal with a filigree twisted cord that circles the medallion and is looped at the top and attached to a the gold-like ribbon shaped lapel pin.

Grand Commander Star of Ethiopia Citation to Robert N. Thompson

Object is a framed Grand Commander Star of Ethiopia citation issued by Emperor Haile Selsassie I to Robert Thompson. The citation is hand written in Amharic with the Emperor's seal centred above the black text. The citation is framed with an elaborate chainlink design in the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The top centre of the design features the Imperial Family of Ethiopia (also known as the House of Solomon) arms that is composed of the Imperal Throne flanked by two angels, one holding a sword and a pair of scales, the other holding the Imperial sceptre. It is surmounted by a red mantle with the Imperial Crown and before the throne is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah that holds a sceptre in it's right paw and wearing a crown. On either side of this scene are golden Order of the Star of Ethiopia. The back on the framed citation has a photocopied english translation of text with three stamped seals from the Transportation Office in the Government of Ethiopia. There is a black cord tied for mounting.

The citation reads: "Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Haile Selsassie I, Elect of God, Emperor of Ethiopia, Greetings to all witness this dcoument we, the King of Kings, having been the commander and grantor of the medal of the Ethiopian Star of Honour which is honoured by usand having it deemed apt and good to honour and get honoured, Dr. Robert N. Thompson. By presenting him this honoured medal of the Government of Ethiopian Star of Honour, we have given to Dr. Robert N. Thompson. The Medal of the Commander of the Ethiopian Star of Honour with full consent and great happiness as honourary winner. We have given this with full right and consent to Dr. Robert N. Thompson so that he shall get every honour thant should be bestowed on those who have been presented with the honoured medal as honourary winners. Given in our imperial place at Addis Ababa, on this the 29th day of April, 1967, and on the 37th year of our reign. (signed) Aklilu Habtewold, Prime Minister."

Object is a white painted metal business card holder for Ethiopian Airlines. The text is written in red and outlined in black with a stylized lion standing with its front paws up an tongue. The holder contains empty manilla alphabetized card holders.

Conference of Heads of African States Commemorative Coin

Object is a double sided commemorative coin recognizing the Conference of Heads of African States held in Addis Ababa, May 1963. The front side with the text features the Africa Hall building where the conference was held. The back features a royal crest with the Ethiopian crown and commanding star above. Laurel wreaths enclose the crest on either side.

Metal Napkin Ring with a 50 Matonas Coin

Object is a metal napkin ring the edging is of dot design and the body has repeating connected swirls designs. Affixed to the one side is a 50 Matonas coin, which bears the likeness of Haile Selassie.

Breda Model 35 Grenade Case

Object is a red cylinder Breda Model 35 hand grenade case. The case has a ribbed body and the bottom screws off. The top has slots on opposite sides of different sizes where the safety cap and handle were attached. The Breda hand grenade were manufactured in Italy.
