Pith Hat

Object is a pith hat. It is made of a soft tan canvas. The hat has a downturned brim with a thin leather strap running horizontally across the front of the brim. Pleated trim crisscrosses around the main portion of the hat, and above this is two eyelet holes on either side of the hat. There is stitching running lengthwise across the main portion of the hat, as well as both diagonal directions, meeting at the button at the hat's top. The underbrim is a forest green cotton, with a thick leather sweatband and tan inner lining. Ther is also patches of a silver foil on the inner lining. There are two stamps on either side of the sweatband. The first reads "'Comfortease' Royal Letters Patent NO. 228467 Adopted by H. M. Govt." The second reads "Made in England Expressly For Brooks Brothers New York"

Oil Lamp

Object is an oil lamp. It is comprised of a silver metal, possibly tin, shaped into a short cylinder with a thin, curved handle on one side. On top of the cylinder is a wide tube that folds into a dome-like shape before forming into a thinner tube. The thin tube contains a small, yellow piece of fabric emerging from it. There is a small circular sticker on the side of the cylinder that reads "74D." There is also a sticker on the bottom that reads "(33) Tin Lantern Traditional."

Raffia Small Bowl with Stylized Edge

Object is a small dyed raffia bowl with stylized chevron edge in bands of alternating colours of red, cream, and green. The centre of the bowl is green, followed by cream, red, orange and purple.

Clay Cup

Object is a charcoal grey cup. It features a flared base that narrows into the stem, carved with two stripes, a section of vertical dashes, a small gap in the pattern, then a section of vertical dashes, and then two further carved lines. The stem flares into the bowl of the cup. The external bowl is carved with four vertical lines of dots, each three dots wide. It has a wide, flat rim.

Langley Chamber of Commerce Name Badge

Object is a name badge. It is teal, and features the Langley Chamber of Commerce on the top left corner. The badge reads "Langley Chamber of Commerce Bob Thompson Past President." There is a pin attached to the back, allowing it to be pinned to clothing. There is a silver sticker on the back of the badge, reading "R/D Engraving & Trophies Ltd. 5784 - 203rd Street Langley, B.C. V3A 1W3 (604)534-7220."

Boy Scouts patches

Object (RNT-ob-0113a) is a woven Boy Scouts patch with a red fleur-de-lis with gold stars in the outer leaves. The text "Boy Scouts" is embroidered in gold thread. The patch is tear shaped in olive green. Object (RNT-ob-0113b) is woven Boys Scouts Be Prepared patch in olive green with gold lettering. The text "Be Prepared" is inside a red outlined flag. The patch is oval shaped with the outer corners slightly raised upwards.

Breda Model 35 Grenade Case

Object is a red cylinder Breda Model 35 hand grenade case. The case has a ribbed body and the bottom screws off. The top has slots on opposite sides of different sizes where the safety cap and handle were attached. The Breda hand grenade were manufactured in Italy.

Old 78th Fraser Highlanders Plaque

Object is a wooden shellacked plaque with a mounted painted shield of the 78th Fraser Highlanders. The shield is red and white vertical bands with the motto "Je Suis Prest" in a blue banner with gold letters; translated "I am ready". Above the motto in cursive writing are the intials "G.R. II, LXXVIII" with a british crown above. Under the shield is gold ribboned banner "Old 78th Fraser Highlanders." The back has a plastic mount with manufacturing stamp "Made in Great Britian."

Pharoah's Queen Plate

Object is an engraved decorative brass plate with inlaid silver that features a side portrait bust of Pharaoh's Queen that could be Hatshepsut on a black background. The skin of the queen is brass and the other features such as the head piece and necklace are made of inlaid silver. The back has a triangular hook.

Cedar Talking Stick

Object is a carved walking stick that depicts a bald eagle at the top and an Indigenous chief wrapped in a blanket with a salmon crest on the lower half. The back is flat and has a thumb tack with fishing twine for hanging. In addition, there are two sections on the back where the wood has been shaved for a depiction written in blue ink. The first section reads "Bald Eagle" and the second " Chief wrapped in a blanket salmon crest, Jim Yelton, Squamish."
