Subseries consists mainly of correspondence and committee minutes related to the Mel Smith Lecture and Scholarship. In addition, there are invitations, promotional material, news releases, and speeches related to the lecture series. Regarding the Mel Smith sponsorship there are donor lists and financial updates, as well as lists of potential student recipients.
Series consists of two subseries, Employment at TWU and the Mel Smith Lecture and Scholarship. Both subseries mainly consists of correspondence. The Mel Smith Lecture and Scholarship subseries contain committee minutes, invitations, promotional material, press releases, and copies of Mel Smith Lecture speeches by Raif Mair and Preston Manning.
Series consist of correspondence related to Mel Smith's employment as an adjunct political science professor and an advisory and consultant to President Neil Snider.

File consists of correspondence related to Mel Smith's employment as a part-time professor in History and Political Studies teaching on Canadian constitution at Trinity Western University, as well as an advisory and assistant to President Neil Snider on matters related to government trends and development that may affect the university. In addition, there is correspondence related to TWU Foundation Act where Mel Smith provided advising on the financial matter.
File consists of a fax copy of Preston Manning's Mel Smith Lecture speech. The speech was entitled "Thinking Big About the Future" and includes a personal message from Manning to Mel Smith, as well as annotations without the speech.
