Stan Fryer, Trinity Western University staff, is interviewed on his involvement with Burden Bearers of Canada, a nonprofit group that provides counseling services. He discusses the impact of his faith on his counseling work. He shares details of the counseling process at Burden Bearers. He shares anecdotes about his experiences and the impact his volunteer work has had on his personal growth. At [27:02] the interview ends and choir music - possibly the original content of the cassette - plays. The choir is accompanied by a piano. The music continues until the end of the recording.

[According to a telephone conversation with Stan Fryer during the summer of 2004, he served at Trinity from 1975 to 1985, first as Business Manager to 1977, then in Development from 1978 to 1985. School calendar listings identify him as Associate Director of Public Affairs from 1978 to 1985.]

He discusses inflation, increasing taxation, unionization, and the need to replace the current government. At [17:50] he takes questions from the audience. At [28:27] this section ends and there is a low hum for the remainder of the recording.

This recording is a collection of several short promotional spots, presumably intended to be played on the radio during a political campaign. Each ad features a clip of Bob Thompson making brief comments regarding his views on various issues followed by another man identifying Thompson as “Bob Thompson, Surrey – White Rock, Conservative Candidate” and making some positive comment re his character or abilities. The majority of these advertisements are between 15 and 30 seconds in length.

Dr. Mooneyham, President of World Vision, speaks at a retreat. He shares the personal lessons that he has learned in his life, including learning to ask the right questions when problems present. He focuses on the development of World Vision and the way those present can impact its success. He discusses the sense that God is raising up a group of men to challenge the secular world and pursue evangelizing the world. He discusses how World Vision is making a difference in developing countries and the importance of their work. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence. Another voice instructs the listener to turn over the cassette tape.

Title: Dr S. Mooneyham – “Retreat”
This is a continuation of Dr. S. Mooneyham’s address on Aud. 257a. He continues his discussion of the impact of the work World Vision is doing. He focuses on each geographic region, including Asia, India, Africa, South America, and North America. He speaks about the importance of internationalizing the aid programs they are developing. He discusses how World vision wants to be seen as “the people who help people care”. He leads the group in prayer. Someone named Ted is invited to speak; he concludes the session and provides instructions on how the rest of the day is to proceed.
