Object is a stirling silver medallion pendant awarded to Robert Thompson who won first place in a public speaking contest. The medallion is attached to a metal pendant clip. The front inscription reads: "Public Speaking Contest, 1st, Heckla, S.D." The back inscription: "Markerville, 1925, Junior Fair, R. Thompson." The front inscription is mounted on a rounded base that is surrounded by a laurel wreath. The medallion was manufacturered by P.W. Ellis.

The vertical frame is a stained burgundy wood with an elaborate in relief bevelled edge in a floral chain design. There are three panels: Panel 1) title that reads: "Honours and Awards granted to Robert Norman Thompson O.C. 1945-1994."; Panel 2): colour image of Robert Thompson wearing a red military jacket with his military bar medals on his left breast, the Order of Canada hangs from his neck, and the Star of Ethiopia is pin to the lower left side of the jacket. The image measures 5 x 8.2 cm; Panel 3): lists the awards and medals that are mounted on the associated shadow box, for a description see, RNT-ob-0137.

The frame is a stained burgundy wood with an elaborate inner gold bevelled edge with a foral design. Centred in the top portion of the shadow box is a brass plaque with the inscription "HONOURS AND AWARDS GRANTED TO ROBERT NORMAN THOMPSON O.C. 1945-1994." The shadow box has four panels and the awards and medals are mounted on red velvet.

Object is a framed proclamation for the new Canadian maple flag that is signed in blue ink by Queen Elizabeth II, Attorney General of Canada Guy Favreau, and Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson. The proclamation is written in both english and french in cursive calligraphy. The Canadian Coat of Arms is centred on the top above the text with the new flag featured in the middle between the english and french texts. The Queen's seal is featured on the lower left corner. The proclamation is enclosed in a black wooden frame with a gold detail on the inner bevelled edge.

Object is a framed print of the newly enacted Canadian Bill of Rights, an act for the recognition and protection of human rights and fundamental freedom. The print was signed by the 13th Prime Minister of Canada, John G. Diefenbaker on July 1, 1960 in blue ink. The print contains the act's preamble and Part I Bill of Rights written in English in black calligraphy with the title in gold lettering. On the upper left corner is the Canadian Coat of Arms and underneath are four images stacked upon one another showing difficult individuals. Beginning at the top, the first image is a worker standing in blue overalls with their right hand in the air and individuls seated behind them. The second image displays an individual standing reading a document with a torch in the background. The third image is a lawyer speaking in a court with a judge in the background and scales representing law. The last image is of two individuals facing the sun with their backs faced out. The older individual has their left hand on the right shoulder of the younder individual. Located on the bottom left in colour is the Parliament Buidlings in Ottawa. The The bill was printed by Roger Duhamel, F.R.S.C., Queen's Printer in Ottawa, Canada.

Object is framed piece showcasing five Ethiopian handheld Coptic Crosses made of brass in various sizes and designs. The coptic crosses are mounted on purple velvet-like material and framed in a yellowish-white marble faux wood with gold bevelled edge. The centre of the mounted piece features a large cross with two smaller crosses on either side. Description of crosses from left to right:

• 1) Hand cross with lower tablet in the shape of a square with notched foliate design, central shaft, upper cross is elaborate carved latticework with incising to accentuate the cross with small circles and lines.
• 2) Hand cross Hand cross with lower tablet in the shape of a square, rounded central shaft, upper cross has three pointed ends and a fine patina.
• 3) Large hand cross with lower tablet in the shape of a square with notched plus sign and ovals in between the edges of the sign, thick central shaft, upper cross is elaborate carved latticework with incising to accentuate the crosss with small circle and lines.
• 4) Hand cross with lower tablet in the shape of a square, rounded central shaft, upper cross form has incised circles on the three points of the cross with dots on the cross lines.
• 5) Hand cross with lower tablet in the shape of a diamond that has been notched to form a cross design, rounded central shaft, upper cross features four crosses that interset.

Object is a framed Grand Commander Star of Ethiopia citation issued by Emperor Haile Selsassie I to Robert Thompson. The citation is hand written in Amharic with the Emperor's seal centred above the black text. The citation is framed with an elaborate chainlink design in the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The top centre of the design features the Imperial Family of Ethiopia (also known as the House of Solomon) arms that is composed of the Imperal Throne flanked by two angels, one holding a sword and a pair of scales, the other holding the Imperial sceptre. It is surmounted by a red mantle with the Imperial Crown and before the throne is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah that holds a sceptre in it's right paw and wearing a crown. On either side of this scene are golden Order of the Star of Ethiopia. The back on the framed citation has a photocopied english translation of text with three stamped seals from the Transportation Office in the Government of Ethiopia. There is a black cord tied for mounting.

The citation reads: "Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Haile Selsassie I, Elect of God, Emperor of Ethiopia, Greetings to all witness this dcoument we, the King of Kings, having been the commander and grantor of the medal of the Ethiopian Star of Honour which is honoured by usand having it deemed apt and good to honour and get honoured, Dr. Robert N. Thompson. By presenting him this honoured medal of the Government of Ethiopian Star of Honour, we have given to Dr. Robert N. Thompson. The Medal of the Commander of the Ethiopian Star of Honour with full consent and great happiness as honourary winner. We have given this with full right and consent to Dr. Robert N. Thompson so that he shall get every honour thant should be bestowed on those who have been presented with the honoured medal as honourary winners. Given in our imperial place at Addis Ababa, on this the 29th day of April, 1967, and on the 37th year of our reign. (signed) Aklilu Habtewold, Prime Minister."
