Audio 108a consists of the following recording:
Title: Dr. Don Page – “The True Meaning of Success”
Dr. Don Page, Academic Vice President, speaks at The Meeting Place in Winnipeg. He is introduced by an unidentified speaker. He describes the journey of “success”. He discusses his personal journey through politics with several interesting and amusing anecdotes. Through these anecdotes he attempts to define “success”. He asserts that there are four characteristics of successful people: physical and mental fitness, personal integrity, putting personal goals above personal gain (to serve others), and being a person of God. He relates his personal journey to Christ and his struggles to share Christ with others. He shares his personal grief surrounding the aviation accident at TWU (1991). He calls on his audience to re-evaluate their definition of success. He is thanked for speaking by the same speaker who introduced him. This person then asks for donations for a youth mission trip and leads the group in prayer.

Dr. Page, Academic Vice President, discusses the development of Christian believers in China. He explores the difficulty posed by spirituality and the new age movement. He discusses the profound failures of politics when Christian values are lost within the rule of law. He illustrates this point with personal stories. He then takes questions from the audience on a variety of topics, including Christians in the media, sexual orientation, violence in the media, and the importance of upholding the word of God.

Reverend. Keith Price, of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC), iillustrates the importance of ‘numbering one’s days’ through sharing interesting personal stories. He asks those present to consider, “what does it mean to apply one’s heart to wisdom?” He discusses his personal journey to faith and discusses how to live a Christian life. He argues that we must value the days God has granted us by living them for his glory.

[In the late 1960s, Keith Price became the founder of Christian Direction, an organization he lead until his retirement in 1983. Later, he served as Minister at Large for the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.In 1990 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by TWU. A memorial service for Keith Price.was held on February 2, 2001 at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church Victoria, BC.]

This professional-sounding script was likely prepared to accompany a slide show used for public relations and fundraising. The speaker begins by describing the history of Trinity Western University and the importance of developing higher Christian education in Canada. Trinity's membership in the AUCC is alluded to, as is the school's 25th anniversary. Two prominent fundraising campaigns are mentioned. The development of the campus is described, including the construction of several buildings. The mission of developing Christian leaders and the impact of a financial contribution is mentioned. This portion has a whimsical and emotive music track. At [8:12] there is a repeat of the majority of this recording but without background music.

Ian Scott speaks at a chapel service on the Word and the Light. He personalizes and retells biblical stories in order to relate to his audience. He retells the story of the shepherds and the birth of Jesus, as well as the story of Jesus healing Lazarus, and the crucifixion. Finally, he leads the group in prayer.
