Audio 258a consists of the following recording:
Title: William Aberhart – “Edmonton Bible Conference” (1940) / J.S. Woodsworth – “My Political Views” (1935) / R.B. Bennett –“Canadian Bankers Association Speech” (1934)
In this recording, William Aberhart [Premier of Alberta between 1935 and 1943] emphasizes the [Social Credit] party motto “I mean business”. He leads a rally. Manning {Ernest? Premier of Alberta between 1943 and 1968 for the Social Credit Party of Alberta] acknowledges the support they have received. Aberhart offers an observation on the gospel of John, chapter 8. He asks for financial support. He offers a brief sermon on heaven. Singing is introduced, but is not recorded. Lord Tweedsmuir’s death is reported. The story of Ahab is recounted. Aberhart and someone referred to only as "Kennedy" banter back and forth on several issues. Aberhart recounts several compelling anecdotes from history. At [23:42] there is another fast forward. Aberhart discusses prophecy in light of present day events and responds to a letter. At [25:16] there is a distinct change in the recording. A radio promotional piece on the benefits of the Social Credit Party plays. At [28:16] a man announces that the next speaker will be J.S. Woodsworth [Winnipeg MP, 1921-1942]. Woodsworth speaks on his political beliefs and changes needed in Canada. At [31:32] a man announces that the next speaker will be R.B. Bennett. Prime Minister Bennett speaks to the Canadian Bankers' Association. He discusses post World War I Canada and the Great depression.

[This may be a recording of Silas Fowler Fox, a missionary to India who was born in Alberta in 1893.] The volume of this recording pulsates rapidly and it is very difficult to pick out the discussion, which appears to revolve around several bible verses.

Audio 203a consists of the following recording:
Title: TWU Music Ensemble – “Selected Songs”
This recording contains several contemporary Christian songs performed by a music ensemble - presumably comprised of Trinity students. It appears to be a women's ensemble, accompanied by a piano. There is no applause or background noise, so it may not have been a live recording, or a live performance.
Audio 203b consists of the following recording:
Title: TWU Music Ensemble – “Selected Songs”
This recording contains several contemporary Christian songs performed by a mixed music ensemble. The group is accompanied by a piano, though the second-last song includes what may be "canned" instrumentation including brass and percussion.

A woman named Peggy shares her testimony and journey to the Lord. Another woman shares her faith journey. A man shares his testimony, and a woman is baptized. Several others share their testimonies. There is a prayer and then the group sings the hymn, Amazing Grace.

Wes Shumara is interviewed about his involvement with Trinity Western University. A variety of topics that relate to Trinity Western University are covered, including its history, culture and the potential for TWU to make an impact on a perspective student. At [10:37] Douita [Donita?] Strauss is interviewed about her involvement with Trinity Western University. She discusses the benefit of the relationships she forged at the school. [In places, the recording is very quiet and difficult to understand.]

This recording begins in the middle of a lecture, exploring servant leadership and power. He uses a variety of biblical passages to reinforce his points. Finally, he takes a few questions from those present and leads the group in prayer.

Title: Unidentified Speaker – “Authority”
[The initial portion of this recording has a severe distortion making it difficult to understand the speaker.] It sounds as if those present are being led in prayer. At [13:48] the speaker changes, though he is still unintelligible. At [17:00] a different speaker begins. He responds to questions from the audience. He discusses the concepts of “authority”, “power” and “structure” at length. He uses church dynamics to illustrate his points. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.

Archivist's notes, ca. 2007: Evangelical Free Church meeting or conference. 1. Opens with sermon or lecture re the nature of power. 2. Dr. Benson or Benton prays, and quotes Elton Trueblood re shoddy work. 3. Announcement of a 15-minute break, followed by a business session. There is a reference to "Dwight" [possibly Dwight Johnson, TWU staff member?] and the tape cuts off. ca. 30 minutes. Very poor sound quality.

Evangelism Week: President Neil Snider / Gerhard DuToit

Audio 45b consists of the following recording:
Title: President Neil Snider – “Glorify God” and "The Mission of TWU" / Gerhard DuToit – (Faith Missions) "The Word of God"
There is some singing at the beginning of the recording. A student, Mike Hamilton, shares the story of his father accepting the Lord. The students pray for the continued intervention of the Lord. President Snider speaks in regards to the constant change in the world. He states that the mission of the University is personal development in Jesus Christ and the end goal is service to the Lord. He reads and examines John 16:33-17:5. He argues that one’s overall purpose is to glorify God. He then leads the students in prayer.
This section ends and a recording from another day begins. During Evangelism Week, Gerhard DuToit speaks to the importance of being accountable and available to God. He emphasizes that the Word of God should be precious to all Christians. He shares a compelling story about the murder of a Christian in Africa and the impact this person’s witness had on those who murdered him. DuToit relates the importance of preaching and relates a personal story of connecting to a stranger through the Word of God. He argues for continued witness to Jesus Christ and constant prayer. The recording cuts off in the middle of a sentence.

Music and Narrative: Christmas presentation [partial]

Audio 214b consists of the following recording:
Title: Unidentified soloists and narrators – “The Christmas Story”
A female soloist accompanied by a variety of instruments, possibly synthesized, including harp, bells, and piano, performs a song ["I am waiting in a silent prayer"]. She begins to tell the Christmas Story. Midway through the recording, a male narrator recounts the Christmas story from Joseph's perspective [What did Joseph feel?] and a male soloist performs a song. The two singers perform a duet. Another song is begun, but is cut off abruptly.
