76th Frazer Highlanders wool scarf and plaque instituting Thompson as Senior Lieutenant at Fort Langley unit

  • Object is a small plaque. It is contained within a wooden frame, with the inner rim of the frame painted gold. Inside the frame is a piece of paper which reads as follows: "Lieutenant Robert N. Thompson, LL.D., KCLJ, FRGS The 78th Fraser's Highlanders, Commanding Officer, Fort Langley-on-the-Frazer Outpost, 8989 Hudson Bay Street, FORT LANGLEY, British Columbia. V0X 1J0. GREETINGS........ BE IT KNOWN to you, our Trusty and Well-Respected Officer, that in future, it is out wish that you will be designated 'The Senior Lieutenant' of Fort Langley-on-the-Frazer, effective April 2, 1979. GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND ARMOURIAL SEAL: J. Ross Oborne, U.E., K.L.J., Commander of Outposts. ANNO DOMINI This 2nd Day of April '79." J. Ross Oborne's signature is signed above his typed name. There is also a rectangular piece of their tartan attached to the paper by a wax seal, which bears the image of a lion. There is also a Coat of Arms at the bottom which has been glued to the paper.
  • Object is a wool scarf. It is plaid patterned, and comprised of the colours orange, lime, and forest green.

Acupuncture Needles from Bethune Int. Peace Hospital

Object is an Acupuncture set. The case is a dark red with a gold zipper around the edge. The front right corner contains gold chinese characters, which translates roughly to read "Needle Clip Beijing Second Leather Goods Factory." inside there is a grey cushion in either side. each containing needles with copper-coloured ends: the left side has 10 needles and the right side has 9. The right cushion also contains a small leather pocket which contains 9 more needles. There is a small piece of paper inside the set. It is teal and bears a military symbol on the top. When roughly translated the front reads "Acupuncture Needles" in pink vertical chinese characters, and "Produced by Beijing Niujie Medical Needle Factory" in black horizontal chinese characters. On the back side there are more chinese characters, which when roughly translated read "Acupuncture Needles" in black text, and along the bottom of the paper "Specification:", "Interior:", "Date of Manufacture:", and "ten". There are numbers stamped near this text, though most are faded beyond comprehension.

African Money

Object is a wood box of items labelled "Primitive African Money"; 2 shells, 2 strings of blue beads, 3 black disks, and 1 yellow ring.

Object is a carved wooden figurine depicting a woman wearing a series of silver collars and holding a baby. The back side of the figurine is made of lighter wood including the ear and arms and the rest is ebony, a dark wood.

Alberta Chiropractic Association Award

Object is an engraved plaque recognizing Robert Thompson's service as a chiropractor. The plaque is mounted onto plywood enclosed in a brass plated frame. On the plaque' back is manufacturer sticker: Walter G. Agnew Ltd., Jeweller.

The plaque reads: "Alberta Chiropractic Association Award. Chiropactor Of The Year, 1959, Dr. R.N. Thompson. In grateful recognition of outstanding service to your profession and to your fellow man.

Alberta Chiropractic Association Award of Merit

Object is an award of merit recognizing Robert Thompson service within the Alberta Chiropractic Association. The award of merit is engraved on a metal plate that is affixed to a metal adornation that features a rolled out sroll with laurel wreath behind the scroll, and this feature is attached to a wooden base.

The plaque reads: "Alberta Chiropractic Association, Award of Merit. Be it known that Dr. Robert N. Thompson for having served the chiropractic profession and the public unselishly is hereby given the A.C.A. Award of Merit. March 7, 1981."

Avlosulfon Tin

Obect is a tin of Avlosulfon. It has a silver screw lid, and the canister is off white and the top and blue at the bottom. The tin reads "1000 Avlosulfon 4 : 4 Diaminodiphenylsuphone Tablets 0 . 1 Gramme (POISON) Imperial Chemical (Pharmaceuticals) LTD. Manchester Made in England." On the side of the tin, the code "UU - 39919" is printed, and the ICI's logo is printed on the back.
