Professor John Sutherland, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business & Economics, discusses various approaches to Business Ethics. He discusses changing views on ethics from the 1980s to the 1990s. He shares several quotes and anecdotes to illustrate various ways people rationalize and compartmentalize business decisions. He discusses the negative impact of Utilitarianism. He outlines a Christian basis for business ethics and concludes his presentation at [36:45]. He then responds to questions. The next speaker is invited to begin.

Title: John Kelsall – “Institute for Executive Leadership Seminar – Vancouver: ‘Hands on Leadership’”
John Kelsall, Senior Vice President of the Canadian National Railway (CNR), Montreal, discusses the importance of being a hands-on Christian leader in the workplace. He shares several anecdotes related to his involvement with the rail industry in Canada. He compares Western and Asian business traditions. He explores the lives of biblical leaders in order to extract leadership qualities relevant for today. He relates further anecdotes based on his personal experience, emphasizing the importance of Christ. He takes questions from the audience. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
