At the time of the University's founding, in 1961, Perry Havens, Vice President in Business Administration, provided oversight for personnel matters. From 1967 to 1968 Mac Warnock, Business Manager, was responsible for issues related to salaries. From 1971 to 1972 Lyle Vanderpol served as Business Manager, and in 1975 Stan Fryer took on this role; his job title was later changed to Director of Business Affairs
At some point in the 1970's, the Personnel Department was created. In 2001 the name of the department was changed to Human Resources.
From 1975 to 1980, Bob Swanson served as Personnel Director. During these years, he also served for various periods of time as Comptroller, head of Church Relations, and Assistant to the President. In 1981, Jackson McAllister served as Personnel Director.
In 1989 Bill Norris was appointed Director of Personnel.
As of the spring of 2002, the Human Resources department administrators were: Kristen Corrigan (Executive Director for Human Resources since 2002); Bill Norris (Director of Human Resources); and Steve Reimer (Associate Director for Employee Relations from 2001 to February of 2003). Glenn Forrester, Executive Assistant to the President since 1993, fulfills the role of Senior Human Relations Practitioner for the University.
The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce that Janis Ryder will be joining TWU as our Executive Director of Human Resources (EDHR). The position of EDHR has been vacant at TWU for over three years and we are pleased to have Janis fill this important role ... Please join us in welcoming Ms. Ryder to TWU when she starts her work here on May 4.

A May 25 email announced that Dale Clark, Vice President, Administration and Resources, had resigned his position. Human Resources, under the direction of Janis Ryder, would report to the Provost's Office.
Janis Ryder, Executive Director of Human Resources, and her team have also assumed responsibility for Payroll and Student Employment. Student Employment will remain in the Student Success Centre, but Lois Penner will begin reporting to Janis Ryder.

We’re continuing to strengthen Trinity Western University’s Executive Leadership Team with the appointment of Bob Nice, a seasoned financial management expert. He will serve as TWU’s new CFO and Senior Vice-President of Business Administration as of today, July 11. Bob will oversee TWU’s finance, human resources, information technology and campus facilities departments. His tasks will include strategic planning, development, implementation, administration and evaluation of all administrative and support units under his management.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret Tam as Director of Human Resources. Margaret will join our team on March 20. Janis Ryder has given us notice that she will be retiring from her role as Executive Director of HR in June, although she will continue to provide support for some HR initiatives over the next year.
