Scope and content

Audio 199a consists of the following recording:
Title: “Malcolm Cameron's Farewell”
This recording consists of staff members and students sharing anecdotes about the effect Malcolm Cameron, Director of Campus Ministries, has had on their lives. Speakers include Tom Bulick (Student Life), a woman named Julie, and two unidentified men. At [14:25] Cameron is invited to speak. He expresses his thanks to those in attendance and those involved in the chapel program. He discusses the impact that Trinity Western University has had on his personal growth. He reads from Psalm 37 and thanks everyone for the opportunity to serve in chapel ministry. The group is led in prayer.
Audio 199b consists of the following recording:
Title: “Maggie Hong's Memorial Service”
This is a recording of the chapel memorial service held for Maggie Hong, a Trinity Western Student who was killed in a car accident. There is singing for the first third of the recording. An unidentified man reads Psalm 23, then prays, first in another language [Mandarin or Cantonese?], then in English. Another unidentified man - possibly Tom Bulick, Vice President for Student Affairs - speaks briefly about Maggie, who was born in Cambodia, November 17 1970 and died April 5, 1991, at the age of 20. She, her sister Rebecca, and her brother, Min Tang, were travelling in a car on Highway 1; the car struck a tree, killing Maggie and injuring her siblings, currently in hospital. Their parents live in Hong Kong. Maggie had been studying French, and had developed a close relationship with Kelsey Haskett, faculty member. Don Page (Vice President for Academic Affairs) speaks. There is a lengthy silence during which those present pray, individually and in groups. Page closes in prayer. The service concludes with further music and singing. Those present are invited to a formal funeral service in Vancouver, and are dismissed.
