DEPARTMENT HEADS
From 1962 to 1969, Perry G. Havens is listed in TJC calendars as Vice President in Business Administration, which included Development. (From 1969 to 1976 he served as Public Relations Officer.) In 1968, Stanley T. Nelson was appointed Director of Development. He left in 1973 to serve as founding pastor for the Fort Langley Evangelical Free Church. Lanson Ross is listed as Director of Development until 1974. From 1975 to 1976 Robert N. Thompson is listed as Vice President of Institutional Development; he is also sometimes listed as the head of Public Affairs, and as Special Assistant to the President for Government Relations and Corporate Affairs.
During this time, from 1974 to 1975, Chet Larson provided leadership for the Church Relations department; in September of 1974 Dwight Johnson was appointed Director of Church Relations. He continued to serve in this capacity in 2005.
In 1976 there was a Board decision to engage a full-time Director of Development and to establish a full-scale development plan, including Charter amendments, operational giving, capital projects, student recruitment, and effective internal economies. A job description dated September 1976 for the Director of Development lists as the primary purposes of the position the following:
- Build image of TWC specifically related to business and corporations, individuals and churches
- Acquire funds for the College including gifts of property or cash, trusts (revocable and non-revocable), annuities and loans (personal and otherwise)
- Provide will and estate planning service to individuals, particularly members of Evangelical Free Church and other interested churches
- Promote interest of young people in attending TWC
In 1977 Barrie Palfreyman was appointed Director of Public Affairs, in which capacity he served until ca. 1979. Following his retirement from pastoral work, Stanley Nelson returned to Trinity, ca. 1978, to work on a volunteer basis with Dwight Johnson to focus on "regular monthly gift income projects" and church relations.
According to a telephone conversation with Stan Fryer during the summer of 2004, he served at Trinity from 1975 to 1985, first as Business Manager to 1977, then in Development from 1978 to 1985. School calendar listings identify him as Associate Director of Public Affairs from 1978 to 1985. Don Balzer served as Director of Church Relations from 1980 to 1982, when he moved to Admissions.
From 1981 to 1983 Wayne Cameron is listed as Director of Development.
In 1982 Owen Peverall is referred to as Director of the Estate Planning and Loans Division; in 1989 he holds the title Planned Giving Representative.
From 1984 to 1986 Ed Sailer is listed as Director of Development. Guy Saffold served as Director of Public Affairs at this time.
From 1987 to 1990 Steve Larsen served as Development Representative. Peter Horne is referred to as the "new Vice President of University Advancement and Administration" in September of 1987.
Jim Cunningham is listed as Director of Development and Public Relations from 1988 to 1990.
From 1989 to 1990 Ron Kuehl served as Associate Vice President for Development; he left Trinity for one year, and returned to serve from 1991 to 1996 as Vice President for Development. (Source: email message from R.K., September 2004; he later moved to Enrolment Management.) Guy Saffold is listed as Vice President for University Advancement from 1988 to 1996. In 1996 Ron Kuehl was appointed Vice President for Advancement, and had Development, Admissions, and Communications reporting to him.
In 1994, Dwight Johnson served as Acting Director of Development for one year. From 1995 to 2000, he served as Director of Advancement for ACTS, reporting to Dr. Snider. (Dwight retired from TWU in December 2011, after 37 years of service.)
From 1996 to 1998 Gerry Ebbers served as Director for Development, reporting to R. Kuehl.
From 1998 to 2001 Doris Olafsen served as Executive Director of Development and Vice President for Development. In 2002 she was appointed Vice President for Advancement. She resigned from that position in March, 2005
In 2000, Paul Weme became Director for Development Canada, Ron Hendricks Director for Development USA, and Darrell Peregrym Executive Director for Advancement (2000 to August 2004).
Paul Weme resigned in December of 2004, to return in the fall of 2005. He later became Vice President, Advancement.

In 2006 Ron Kuehl was appointed Senior Vice President for External Relations (formerly University Advancement)
On the 22nd of August, 2008, the President announced that with the resignation of Ron Kuehl, David Coons, formerly Executive Director of Development, would be serving as Vice President for Development, "giving leadership to Development, Alumni and Church Relations."
Andry Tjahyana was serving as Executive Director of Develpment, as of October, 2008.

In 2016 the Development Team listing included Patricia Cuff, Executive Director, Development.
