Audio 173a consists of the following recording:
Title: Dr. Craig Broyles – “Dead Sea Scrolls Lecture – Psalm 72”
Peter Flint discusses the Dead Sea Scrolls briefly. He then introduces Dr. Craig Broyles. Dr. Broyles discusses the contribution of Psalm 72 to the "Messianic Ideal," focusing on eight primary points. He uses other psalms to emphasize his points. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 173b consists of the following recording:
Title: Dr. Peter Flint – “Dead Sea Scrolls Lecture – Daniel at Qumran”
This is a continuation of Aud. 173a. Dr. Broyles continues to examine Psalm 72 for the traits of the Messiah. He concludes at [9:17]. Peter Flint discusses the Daniel tradition at Qumran at length. He takes two questions from the audience. He concludes at [35:30]. An unidentified speaker advertises the MA in Biblical Studies program and an upcoming Dead Sea Scrolls lecture. The group is dismissed for lunch.
Audio 173c consists of the following recording:
Title: Unidentified Speaker – “Dead Sea Scrolls Lecture – 2 Corinthians 2:14” / Dietmar Neufeld – “Dead Sea Scrolls Lecture – Johannine Messianism”
This is a continuation of the lecture on Aud. 173b. An unidentified speaker discusses the meaning of the Greek for “lead in triumphal procession” which appears in 2 Corinthians 2:14. He then explores the imagery and impact of this verse at length. He concludes at [13:21]. Professor Dietmar Neufeld discusses his paper ‘And When that One Comes: Aspects of Johannine Messianism’, in P. Flint and M. Abegg [C. Evans?] (eds), Eschatology, Messianism and the Dead Sea Scrolls, Grand Rapids, Michigan: Eerdmans, 120–40. He concludes at [42:20]. The panel then proceeds to take questions from the audience until the end of the recording.
Audio 173d consists of the following recording:
Title: Many Speakers – “Dead Sea Scrolls Lecture – Apocalyptic Literature / Paul & Qumran”
An unidentified speaker presents a paper on apocalyptic literature in the Dead Sea Scrolls. At [29:54] he concludes. Another unidentified speaker presents his paper on Paul and Qumran. He examines 2 Corinthians at length. He focuses on Throne / Chariot Mysticism in Qumran and Paul. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence. This lecture continues on Aud. 173c.
Audio 173e consists of the following recording:
Title: Many Speakers – “Dead Sea Scrolls Lecture – Question period”
This is a continuation of Aud. 173c. The panel of Dead Sea Scroll experts responds to a variety of questions from the audience.
