Scope and content

Audio 107a consists of the following recording:
Title: Dr. Don Page – “Leadership for Tomorrow's World”
Dr. Don Page, Academic Vice President, speaks at the Corporate Club Dinner in Abbotsford. He discusses the current changes in the world and the need for Christian leaders. He illustrates his points with stories about scientific development, political change, and the rise of the post-capitalist society. He references a post-Cold War Era, the knowledge-based economy, and a society that is interested in religion, but not Christianity. He discusses the repercussions of turning away from Judea-Christian ethics and values, the need for leaders, and the fact that there may be a leadership vacuum. He discusses the change in hiring, from an emphasis on degrees, grades, and transcripts to a focus on individual qualities and inter-personal skills. Education is more than technical competence. He begins to discuss the view of University students on "heroes." He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 107b consists of the following recording:
Title: Dr. Don Page – “Leadership for Tomorrow's World”
This is a continuation of the talk on Aud. 107a. Dr. Don Page continues his discussion of heroes. He emphasizes the importance and qualities of a servant leader. He argues that one cannot serve humanity without Christianity. He illustrates this with personal stories of students, faculty and himself. Finally he reasserts the importance of building Christian leaders.
