Scope and content
Audio 301a consists of the following recording:
Title: Peter Ropke – “Keeping the Faith – Liberty versus Rights” / Paul Marshall – “Keeping the Faith – Religious Freedom around the World”
Peter Ropke discusses the movement from a liberty-based system to a rights-based system of government at length, in relation to religious freedom. He cites several examples and argues that a rights-based system allows for fewer freedoms then a liberty-based system. At [32:18] he concludes and Paul Marshall [likely Senior Fellow at the Center for Religious Freedom, at Freedom House] presents his lecture. He offers an overview of what is happening in terms of religious freedom in the world, why it is happening, what it means in terms of the way we understand the world and in terms of what we should do. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 301b consists of the following recording:
Title: Paul Marshall – “Keeping the Faith – Religious Freedom around the World”
This is a continuation of the lecture on Aud. 301a. Paul Marshall continues his discussion of religious freedom in the world, how and why it is changing, and how we should respond. He cites examples spanning countries in both the developing and developed world. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
