Buckingham discusses religious freedom in Canada. She discusses secularization, resolving conflicting or competing rights, and accommodation of religion at length. She attempts to focus on the “bigger” picture and apologizes for a lack of depth. First, she focuses on the secularization of Canadian society. She discusses the benefits of religion to the individual and society. She discusses the negative impact of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. She examines several cases of religious freedom in Canada, with a focus on cases involving educational institutions. She discusses cases relating to a variety of religions. She is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 299b consists of the following recording:

This is a continuation of the lecture on Aud. 299a. Buckingham discusses religious freedom in Canada. She examines several cases of religious freedom in Canada, with a focus on cases involving educational institutions. Boonstra or Sawatsky responds to her presentation. He discusses the dynamic of being a Christian and a Secular Liberal. At [15:56] a different session begins. Bob Kuhn reads an excerpt from the Trinity Western University Legal Challenge case. He discusses religious freedom and Charter values in Canada. He discusses the dynamics of Tyranny and Tolerance at length. He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
