Audio 169a consists of the following recording:
Title: Many Speakers – “TWU Fall Convocation Sept 10, 1987 (Dr. Redekop)”
This recording of Trinity's 26th convocation service opens with the singing of “O Canada”. Bruce Traub [Associate Dean and Director of Personnel] provides the invocation. There is a reading of scripture [by Student Body President Lauren Shute] and further singing. President Snider introduces important guests, mentions those who will be graduating that evening, and welcomes new students. He refers to the theme, "Truth Unto Godliness," and describes the new Torch logo, recently created for the university and featured in the service program. There is music provided by a father of one of the students [Rev. James Reese]. John Redekop, professor of political science at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, and also adjunct professor of political science at TWU, begins speaking at [19:16]. He speaks on “What makes a campus godly?” He is cut off in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 169b consists of the following recording:
Title: Many Speakers – “TWU Fall Convocation Sept 10, 1987 (Dr. Redekop)”
This is a continuation of Aud. 169a. Dr. Redekop concludes his discussion on “What makes a campus godly?” at [0:30]. There is further music and singing. An offering is collected and those present are asked to aid the university through donations. There is further music and singing. Specific faculty members are recognized.
