The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the University and is accountable to the Board of Governors, under the terms of the Trinity Western College Act. They are responsible for the overall spiritual, administrative, and educational integrity of the University, and has authority for administering all internal and external affairs of the University in keeping with policies set by the board.
In June of 1961, during a conference of the Evangelical Free Church of America, the Canada School Committee elected Dr. Calvin B. Hanson as the first President of Trinity Western.
Duties of the President include, but are not limited to, “establishing and maintaining an effective organizational structure, recruiting and appointing senior administrative staff, exercising general supervision over the use of University properties, maintaining budgetary control, and serving as the University’s chief representative and spokesman.”
