Scope and content

Audio 64a consists of the following recording:
Title: 25th Anniversary Celebration - Theme: A More Excellent Way
Dr. David Hocking (pastor, Bible teacher, and radio broadcaster) is briefly introduced and discussed by an unknown speaker. There is a period of song and prayer. Performer Dorothy McPherson worships in song. At [20:00] she finishes and the unknown speaker - who identifies himself as a new member of faculty, invited to join Trinity a year previous - briefly discusses the impact that Trinity Western has had on him. President Snider is invited to speak. Dr. Snider discusses the Associates' banquet, mutual ministry, his gratitude for Trinity Western University, and that God has a plan for every individual’s life. He impresses on the audience the importance of continuing the work of Trinity Western University. At [35:48] Dr. Hocking is invited by Neil Snider to speak, and introduced as the host of the Biola Hour radio show. He discusses giving to God, serving God through missions and the theme of Trinity Western: excellence. He reads Psalm 8 and discusses excellence at length. He also discusses the importance of connecting with God. He examines the importance of prayer and the all-powerful, all-knowing nature of God. The recording ends in the middle of a sentence.
Audio 64b consists of the following recording:
Title: Dr. David Hocking – “25th Anniversary Celebration”
This is a continuation of the recording on Aud. 64a. Hocking continues to examine the all-knowing nature of God. He illustrates his belief in the power of prayer with several personal stories about his son, healing, and Argentina. He reads from Isaiah 40. At [22:59] Hocking finishes and another unidentified speaker discusses the miracle of receiving funding for the library through foundations. He also asks those in attendance for their help toward balancing the budget, part of the requirements for the library funding. Dorothy McPherson sings. Plans for the launch of the 25th Anniversary Campaign in the fall are announced, honoured guests are thanked, and Neil Snider closes in prayer.
